House of pain and agony

Last week, needless to say was the pits!! Maddox came down with some horrible puking virus for a little over 24 hours. 2 days following the massive loads of laundry, the a HUGE geyser exploded!!!! Dan, Jackson and I were all knocked out, laying next to the toilet, unable to make it into another room, sick...all at the same exact time. IT WAS AWFUL!!! I felt so bad for my babies because there was no mommy to snuggle and cuddle with them for 2 or 3 days (as we usually spend our time huggin' and spreadin' some lovins!). A hero prevailed in the form of Dan's sister Aunt Christie, bestowing treasured gifts of coca-cola, face masks and latex gloves. She made us some yummy bland-o food for our empty and achy tummys and took time to hold the babies. Yeah Aunt Chrisie!!!

Thankfully a prayer was answered in that our sweet baby princess Ava came through without being plagued with the nasty stummy virus. Yeah sis!!! Love a healthy smiley baby! Everything is wonderfully back to normal. I'm lovin on my babies and doing just the regular 2 loads of laundry per day.. yeah-hoo!!!!

Mickey and me

How sweet is this? Maddox is currently infatuated with Mickey and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When I called him up for his nap on Sunday afternoon, he tromps into his room with an armload of characters. He plops into bed and lays each one down ever so delicately on the pillow next to his. After I knew he was out, I ran down to grab my camera and capture my little man and all of his new sleeping partners. What I found was so much sweeter...

Daddy's Birthday

Dan and I were lucky enough to go out for a "date night", a first in who knows how long. Seriously, neither of us could remember the last time it was just the two of us, no kiddos, no clients, no coworkers, no friends, just us. We were celebrating Daniel's 31st year of birth at dinner in a wonderful restaurant, with cocktails , hors 'd oeuvres and a dessert!! Who has time with any of those things with 3 kids? The kids are always well behaved in a restaurant but, come on, there is always chicken to be pulled apart and cooled, ketchup to be set out on a separate little plate, cereal to be spoon fed, and sticky hands to be wet wiped. Never trading any of those sweet things for the world, we are making an official commitment to have "date night" more frequently since we both had such a wonderful time together, just the 2 of us.

That being said, the kids had tons of fun watching the big boy daddy open his brightly wrapped presents, decorating the kitchen with balloons and streamers, meeting him at the door and yelling "happy birthday" when he walked in the door from work, and lastly, blowing out the candles on his very special homemade by kiddos birthday cake.

Happy birthday baby! We love you soooooooooooooooo much!

Girly girl

Last week we made a road trip to pick up some bows that I had custom made for Ava. Did I even realize how ga-ga I was going to be over this girl thing??? After going home and putting the first one on her and giggling over the cuteness, I wanted to pull out every outfit in her closet and have a bow made to match!! (unless they already had a matching hat, of course.) I never realized I was going to be this excited over a little girl. I can't wait for the shopping trips, the hours at the hair salon with cut colors and weaves, the outings to get our nails done and , and , and...all of the little things that I CANNOT wait do with my daughter.

I can't get enough of my sweet baby boys, but I am going to have so much fun with my baby girl and all of our girly, girl time together!!
